With all of these tools, it is very easy to set up a lead magnet and start growing your email list.


What is a Lead Magnet

A lead magnet attracts your audience and persuades them to sign up to your email list. It could be something you have on your website or social media or it could be something that is promoted with paid ads.


There are 3 key components to a lead magnet:

  1. It is attractive to your audience.
  2. It brings the person to a form where they give you their name and email address.
  3. You deliver something that is valuable to them.


Kajabi makes setting up lead magnets really easy. You do it by creating a Kajabi Form, Using a Kajabi Landing Page, and setting up a Kajabi Email Sequence


What kind of ‘things’ can you deliver in a lead magnet?

Your imagination is the limit when it comes to what you can give someone in a lead magnet. Some things are better than others and there are some key considerations to be aware of when you are deciding what is going to work best for you and your audience.

Lead Magnet Key Considerations:

  1. Must be valuable to your audience.
  2. Should be easy for them to commit to. Usually, this means that they will be able to read through or watch it and get the value they want from it in a short amount of time, like 15 minutes. People will be more likely to use your lead magnet if you tell them it can deliver some value to them in 15 minutes instead of giving them a full-blown course that will take 3 months to complete.
  3. Should put them on a path that will lead them to want more of your support for the bigger problem they have. You don’t want to give them a lead magnet that will solve problem X while all your services are geared toward solving problem Y.
  4. Should teach them about your style and way of doing things. This will bring them closer to knowing if you are a good expert for them to follow.


Kajabi Forms

In all Kajabi plans you can set up as many forms as you want. The form is the mechanism that collects the information from the perspective client and triggers actions through automations. You can use forms to collect many types of information besides name and email address.


One important factor of a lead magnet is that it is simple for the person to sign up for, so be careful that you don’t collect more information than you need to with your form. 9 times out of 10 you will just need to get the name and email address.


In Kajabi, the form is a trigger point for other actions to start. This is accomplished through automations. There are two automations that I recommend every leadmagnet has, adding a tag, and subscribing to an email address. You may need to use more automations depending on your lead magnet.


The tag is an identifier that can be used to search and filter with later on. When someone has bought something from you, it is awesome to know where they found you and if it was one of your lead magnets, having a tag on them can help you know that.


Kajabi Landing Pages

All Kajabi plans, except the Kickstarter plan, let you make as many landing pages as you want. The landing page is the page where the form will be shown to the world. Kajabi has many templates for landing pages that work well for lead magnets. You can also start from scratch and design the page yourself.


Generally speaking, you want your landing page for a lead magnet to be short, punchy, and to the point. It should deliver the core message of what the lead magnet will give them in as few words as possible. It should give them a clear view of the form and where to put their name and email address and not distract them with any other options expect to sign up or leave.


Kajabi Email Sequences

All Kajabi plans let you set up as many email sequences as you want. The email sequence is something that the person will be subscribed to once they have completed the form, an automation will take care of this.


Your lead magnet email sequence will deliver the lead magnet to the person after they sign up. This sequence is also a great way to keep talking to the person and build a relationship with them. Right now is the the highest point of interest this person has shown in you so they are more willing right now to read your emails than any other time.


Send them a few emails to build more value into your lead magnet. Send them some emails about yourself and your story so they can learn more about you and start to decide if you are going to be a good support to them. The more you can connect with this person right now, the higher the likelihood of them paying attention to you and your emails in the future.
