Episode Overview

Introduction to Cross-Sell in Kajabi Offers

Hello and welcome to another episode of Kajabi in 5 Minutes. Today’s focus is on the cross-sell section in Kajabi offers. After many episodes about offers, we're wrapping things up soon, which is great news. Kajabi recently released an update with lots of design changes, especially to the checkout page, but I won’t cover those today as I need to explore them first. You can check Kajabi’s pricing page for the latest updates. For now, we’re diving into cross-sells in the offers area.

Navigating Cross-Selling in Offers

To find cross-selling, go to Sales > Offers and select your offer. At the top, you’ll see tabs for Details, Pricing, and Cross-Selling (formerly called Upsells). This area allows you to add order bumps and cross-sells or down-sells, but these must be linked to other existing offers. For example, if you have main Offer A, you can bump or cross-sell Offers B, C, or D, which are created separately.

Using Offers for Cross-Selling and Bumps

If Offers B, C, and D are only for cross-selling or bumping and won't appear as checkout pages on their own, you only need to set the basics like pricing, automations, and product availability. You don’t need to fully edit their checkout pages for cross-selling purposes.

What is a Bump?

A bump is a small add-on checkbox on Offer A’s checkout page. After you enable the bump feature, a box appears where customers can add Offer B (or C or D) to their main purchase with a simple checkbox. This works well for adding things like extra coaching sessions or membership features. You add a short description next to the box. This feature makes it easy for customers to add something extra without navigating away or re-entering payment details.

Upsells and Downsells Explained

Upsells and downsells work similarly but appear as popups after the initial purchase. When a customer buys Offer A and clicks the purchase button, an upsell popup can appear offering an additional Offer B, C, or D. The customer can accept the upsell without re-entering payment or contact info or decline it. If they decline, a downsell offer can then appear as another option. You can chain multiple downsells, but this might annoy customers.

Setting Up and Previewing Upsells

To set an upsell, click Get Started in the cross-sell section, choose the offer to upsell, customize the popup with text and even a video, save it, then preview what the customer will see. Adjust the content as needed and preview again until satisfied. This ensures the upsell popup looks and feels right after purchase.

Conclusion

Cross-sells, bumps, upsells, and downsells are powerful sales tools within Kajabi offers that help increase revenue by presenting additional purchase options to customers at strategic points in the buying process. Order bumps allow customers to add complementary products with a simple checkbox during checkout, making it easy to increase the average order value. Upsells offer customers a related or upgraded product immediately after their initial purchase, without requiring them to re-enter payment details. Downsells provide an alternative, often lower-priced, offer if the upsell is declined, helping capture sales that might otherwise be lost. Using these features effectively can boost conversions and maximize sales in Kajabi.

Thanks for listening! Next week, we’ll finally jump into editing the Kajabi Offer checkout page, which will wrap up this entire offer series. See you then!
