Episode Overview
Introduction
Welcome to Kajabi in 5 Minutes. If you're new, this episode is part of a series covering Offers. It may be helpful to listen to earlier episodes for full context. Today, we'll focus on the rest of the Offer Details page.
Offer Details Page Overview
Previously, we discussed the internal title and title. One field I missed was the description box. In most cases, the description box isn't useful—you typically don’t need to fill it out. Its content only appears if you use an offer content block on your website or landing page, which I personally don’t find beneficial.
I haven’t used an offer block in several years, but from my experience, it's not the best way to communicate value. So, feel free to ignore the description box unless you have a specific use for it.
Post-Purchase Actions
On the Offer Details page, you can select what happens after a customer completes their purchase. Your options include:
- Send to the Member Library: Ideal for product sales, this sends buyers directly to their library where they can access what they purchased. If access is granted at a later date, customers can still see the product listed but will be restricted from accessing the content.
- Existing Landing Page: This option is great if you want to display custom information separate from the product—such as an introduction or extra details. Particularly useful if you’re selling access to things like private podcasts or coaching rather than traditional courses.
- Custom Thank You Page: Kajabi lets you create custom thank you pages that show a unique message above a base thank you page. It’s simple to use for straightforward messages. For more elaborate welcomes, consider creating a dedicated landing page instead.
Email Settings After Purchase
Below the post-purchase actions, you'll find email options:
- Default Email: This is a transactional email that gets sent automatically after purchase, regardless of the customer’s marketing email preferences. You can find the template in your Kajabi settings under Email Templates. The default is fairly generic and contains important code, so edit with caution and use the reset button if necessary.
- Custom Email: You can customize the email for that specific offer directly within the offer’s settings.
- None: Choose this if your offer does not include a product, to avoid confusing customers who don’t need to log in for access.
It’s important to note that marketing emails (such as sequences or welcome emails) will only be sent to those who have subscribed, while the default transactional email is sent to everyone who makes a purchase.
If you’re setting up a "ghost" offer—one with no product—make sure to disable the default email to prevent confusion.
Conclusion
Understanding the post-purchase actions and email settings in Kajabi offers is essential for delivering a smooth customer experience. By choosing the right action—whether sending customers to their member library, a custom landing page, or thank you message—you ensure buyers know exactly what to expect after their purchase. Properly configuring transactional and marketing emails also helps you communicate clearly and appropriately with every customer. Mastering these features lets you avoid confusion, reinforce your brand, and maximize the impact of every sale.
